How to maintain the tires?

In the summer, puncture accidents happen frequently. How to maintain the tires to avoid the trouble of puncture? You'd better know these following points

 ・Check the tire pressure

In general, the air pressure standards for the front and rear wheels of a truck are different. You should follow the tire pressure data in the vehicle manual provided by the truck manufacturer. Generally speaking, tire pressure is normal at 10 atmospheres. If it's over 10, you'd better pay attention. There are two ways to monitor tire pressure: one is to use the tire pressure monitoring system equipped with the car, and the other is to use a tire pressure gauge.

The first method is very simple. It does not require a manual operation but needs the truck to be configured with a tire pressure monitoring device. There are tire pressure monitoring devices in high configuration vehicles, which provide real-time monitoring and alarm functions of tire pressure and tire temperature.

The second method is not complicated. Users could buy a tire pressure gauge and put it in the vehicle to check the tire pressure.

As we all know, the air in the tire is easy to expand in a high-temperature environment. If the tire pressure is too high, the tire will blow out. However, lowering tire pressure will bring about two consequences: one is to wear the inner tube and shorten the service life of the tire, and the other is to increase fuel consumption. If the tire pressure increases, the advantage is that fuel consumption will decrease. However, due to the high temperature in summer, the tire pressure within the normal range will increase after the vehicle is started, which may cause the tire to blow out, increase the braking distance. Therefore, in summer, you'd better check the tire pressure regularly, at least once a month.

・Avoid overloading

When it's hot, heavy trucks consume more fuel when driving. At the same time, it will increase the burden on the braking system and the transmission system, which will reduce the service life of the vehicle. More importantly, as a load of vehicles increases, tire pressure increases, and the possibility of tire blowouts will increase. According to statistics, 70% of road traffic accidents are caused by vehicle overload. For you and your family, please don't overload.

・Pay attention to the shelf life of tires

The production date of the tire is usually marked on the side of the tire, and the last two numbers represent the year of production. When selecting and replacing tires, storage of tires must be avoided as much as possible. Generally speaking, the shelf life of unused tires is 3 years. Also, we need to pay attention to the wear of the tire pattern. If the tire has problems, it's better to replace it as soon as possible.

・Choose good rims

Good tires without good rims are no good. When choosing a rim, we must pay attention to whether the size is appropriate. When we combine the rim with the tire, we should remove the debris on the rim, brush soapy water on the surface, and add a suitable tire pad to minimize the wear between the tire and the rim.

・Avoid unnecessary braking

When braking, the tire tread will rub against the ground, which will cause tire wear. Therefore, we should keep a safe distance when driving to avoid unnecessary braking. At the same time, we should pay attention to the depth of the tire tread pattern. When a tire wears, it will have a bad influence on the brake, so it's better to replace tires in time.
