What your truck's dashboard warning light mean?
Like many other things, cars are not perfect. Whatever vehicle you buy, and no matter how dependable it is rumored to be, it's a natural thing that eventually something will break or stop working. Fortunately, your car will figure out the impending problem before you realize it and is equipped with sensors and warning lights that alert you to the problem. But do you know what those icons on your dashboard mean? If not, today we are going to tell you 5 of the most common warning lights of vehicles.
You will figure out the urgency of the situation by the colors light up!
RED = danger → stop immediately and call dealer or road service!
YELLOW = caution → check the type of warning light and ask your dealer for advice ASAP
GREEN = safety → this light is a sign of safety, please drive safely!
The icons and colors are determined by the International Standards Organization (ISO) and are the same for all cars in the world. So, once you learn them, you'll never have to worry about changing cars!
1. Cab tilt warning light
Red sign!!
When you start an engine if this light came up on your vehicle's dashboard which means the cabin of your truck is not locked. As you can see from the picture of the lamp, if you drive as it is, the cabin would be movable, which is extremely dangerous!
Please drive safely after you lock the cabin.
2. Check Engine light
This light is turned Yellow.
This light indicates the engine or transmission has some problem if the light is turned on while you are driving. In this case, it is difficult for you to pursue the cause if you are not familiar with the structure of the car. Then you should stop the vehicle and ask a professional to find out why your Check Engine Light is on.
3. Oil Pressure Warning
This one is Red sign!!
If this light stays lit, it indicates a loss of engine oil pressure. Immediately check the engine oil level and if the engine oil is low, refill it. There is also a possibility of oil leaking, so check under your car for a sign of oil leaking. If you continue driving, the engine may seize and be damaged. Be careful!!
4. Anti-lock braking (ABS)
Have you ever heard Anti-lock Brake System? It is a device that detects wheel slipping during brakes, prevents the wheels from locking up your brakes, and ensures directional and maneuverability stability of the vehicle. If the light stays on, that means something is not operating and the system is shutting down. It is better for your vehicle is checked by a professional. BUT even if an abnormality occurs in the ABS, the performance as a normal brake is secured.
5. Coolant Warning Light
This light can be turned blue and red.
If the light is Bule…
It's a sign of the temperature of the engine coolant is low. When the temperature is cold outside, warm up the engine before driving.
If the light is Red…
It's a sign of the temperature of the engine coolant is high.
This is a certain sign that your engine is overheating. Continuing to drive with this warning displayed, may cause engine burnout.
