Mini super star: SUZUKI CARRY
This may be one of the most random questions, but what is the most popular mini truck in your country? -Here in Japan, it must be Suzuki Carry, which you may also call “Kirikuu” if you are Tanzanian.
There are multiple world-wide automobile companies like Toyota, Honda, Nissan etc. in Japan. Unlike those companies mentioned before, Suzuki has been focusing on manufacturing compact cars or motorcycles and now they have large share of them in all over the world.
Specialist of compact vehicle
Suzuki has entered to automobile manufacturing in 1955 and dedicated to producing compact cars and motorcycles ever since. Due to their dedication, Suzuki has been the No.1 seller of compact vehicles for over 30 years. Their one and only truck range is the famous Carry and it is also gaining large share in the mini truck market.
Now you may be wondering why Suzuki Carry is so special compared to other mini trucks by other makes.
SUZUKI Carry is widely used especially in countryside areas in Japan. They are suitable for carrying farming stuffs or small equipment. We call these mini trucks “Kei truck” which means light sized truck in Japanese. This Kei vehicles are popular because of its low running cost including tax and fuel cost as well as its compactness.
Compactness
Suzuki carry is very compact, but the loading space is relatively big compared other mini trucks. Also, it can carve even in narrow spaces because the wheel base is short and it minimize the turning radius and difference between track followed by front and rear inner wheels when turning.
Popular models
Suzuki Carry is mostly gasoline/petrol fueled. The loading capacity is about 350kg and suitable for carrying light commodities.
One of the most popular model of Suzuki carry in the world now must be DC51T and DD51T which is manufactured from 1991 to 1999. The difference between DC and DD is that its drive wheel. DC is 2 wheel drive and the DD is 4 wheel drive. So the DD is more powerful and suitable for rough road or climbing up the hill.
Latest model Carry
In early 2018, Suzuki has launched new series of Carry with bigger cabin. In this new series which is named “Super Carry”, extra space behind the seat is installed to be able to load more cargos which you do not want to load on the rear body.
Suzuki Carry is constantly improved with their performance/user-friendliness, and that must be the very reason why it is gaining top share of mini trucks in all over the world. The truck may be looked small, but you will find its convenience once you start to use it.
