 HISTORY OF REFRIGERATED VAN

Here, I am talking about a bit about the history of Refrigerated van in Japan.

It was in 1958 that the refrigerated van first appeared in Japan. At that time, the US Army forces was looking for the company to conduct low temperature transportation of food. 

“TOMINAGA SHIDU”, the president of the “FUKUOKA UNYU” cooperated with “YANO TOKUSYU JIDOSYA” vehicle and developed the first Japanese refrigerated van over 2 years. This made possible to carry food freshly and safely.

 REEFER VAN

Here is another vehicle with a similar function.

It is Reefer Van. This truck also can keep the temperature of cargo. But there is one big difference with Refrigerated Truck.

Reefer Van does not use as the refrigerator to keep the temperature. So loading cargo should have a thermal insulation instruction to keep the temperature. As the temperature rises with time, it is needed to carry with dry ice and other cooler. So you can carry the fruit, vegetables and medical supplies, but it can be difficult to do the fresh meat, fresh fish and frozen food.

Reefer Van’s merit is that it does not cost much money when you using.

Refrigerated Van and Reefer Van look similar but there is a big difference.
