All the units at Auctions are inspected carefully and all the buyers are able to see inspection sheets and photos beforehand.
Although not everyone is entitled to bid at the Auctions. At first, you need to register with the Auction Company, then they evaluate whether you are suitable customers or not. After they approved your application, you will have to pay some deposit.

There is different type of auctions such as Parade Auction, Tender Auction, Bid Auction and Online Auction.

What is Parade Auction, Tender Auction and Bid Auction?

・Parade Auction:
Usually Parade auction is being held three times a year, in spring (March-April), summer (July), and autumn (October-November) at each company’s auction venues. Each unit of construction machinery is driven in front of potential buyers one-by-one, and competitive auctions are conducted.

Approximately 1,000 units of machinery are exhibited at each auction at each venue. The price of each machinery is shown to potential buyers on the day of the auction before bidding begins. The shown price may be either with reserve (having a lower price limit) or without reserve (having no lower price limit), and the customer indicating the highest price during the bidding wins the auction. The day before the auction is designated as a pre-inspection day so that customers can check the machinery at the auction venue.

・Tender Auction:
Usually Tender auction is held either together with the parade auctions or standalone. Bids are accepted at amounts (e.g. in units of 10,000 yen) at or above the set minimum bidding price for each unit of machinery. During the period of the auction, the bid amounts for each piece of machinery are not disclosed (the presence or absence of bids is disclosed).
The customer making the highest valid bid during the period of the auction wins the auction. Each auction includes both venue bidding and online bidding formats. Some auctioneers also accept bids by fax.

・Online Auction:
Bidding is conducted online in real time and most of the Online Auctions are held weekly or monthly. Bids are made on the basis of the information listed on auction websites. Customers log into auction websites and make bids on each unit of machinery during the auction period. The status of the competitive auction is shown on screen. The participant making the highest bid before the auction ends wins the auction.
