It’s Winter Time! Who likes winter? I love winter! It’s very cold outside, and sometime snow around where we live as well… Hokkaido is especially known for a very cold climate. This is where another branch of us is located. But! The atmosphere of winter and the smell of morning cold air is what I have missed the whole year!

How do you keep your house/office warm during the cold season? In japan, we use a heater called a Kotatsu. A Kotatsu is a heater set up under a table and it feels very warm when you put your legs inside. It feels so good and makes me feel drowsy. haha

Also, there are many winter illuminations and light-up events across Japan. One thing you must do in Japan during winter is to see winter illuminations. Every year, they improve the illumination skills and technology also helps the improvement. You can see most of winter illuminations for free of charge.

One thing I normally do at winter season is to go to Onsen, this means hot spring. Japan has many amazing hot spring resorts. Some places have their hot springs in private room, so you can enjoy your own hot spring just for yourself. Hot springs are popular all year around but soaking in hot spring water on a cold winter day is exceptional.
