Hello everyone. Japan is getting little cooler than summer. From now, it would be a very nice season to come to Japan, there will be colored leaves everywhere! I would like to introduce what we do and how we enjoy those special moments in Japan.

The best time to see the autumn foliage in Japan is from middle of November to middle of December. This will depend on the temperature of October to November but normally the end of November is the best of best! At this time of the year, some Japanese gardens and temples illuminate those trees and they look so beautiful. We go to “Momiji-gari” at this season. This means we go and see those leaves and enjoy and feel the autumn. The viewing of autumn leaves is a popular activity in Japan.

Where I recommend is Arashiyama mountain area in Kyoto. They have beautiful river and so many mountains with historical temples and shrines. Also, you can enjoy “Yu-Tohu” meaning boiled tofu. This is very famous from this area. Autumn night is quite cold already, and you will be warmed up from inside your body with this “Yu-Tohu” for sure!

Also Autumns are known to be good season to concentrate on hobbies. We believe autumn is best season to read books, enjoy sports, or even to have great appetite. Every autumn, I try to read books, but this would be my hobbies for all year time… at least I try! Do you have any special events for autumn?
