【Philippines】2018 will be the year of construction, the year of DUMP TRUCK

There is no such thing like “Estimated arrival time”, if you drive in Manila, Philippines. Due to increasing number of vehicles, heavy traffic has been a huge headache for the Philippines government and people who live there. To solve this national problem, Philippines government are now actively planning the expansion of their traffic rail, Under, On, Above their land. How can they achieve these projects?  -Large financial support from Japanese government and quite a few number of DUMP TRUCKS will help them.

If you drive from Quezon; former Capital of the Philippines, to Makati; the Wall Street of the Philippines, it takes more than 1h, although the distance between those two cities is only 13 kilometers. This means it is only 15-20 mins travel if there is no traffic. Now, these flooding cars in Manila are not only the matter of time, they also cause serious effect on its economy. According to NEDA (National Economic and Development Authority), this heavy traffic causes the economic loss of 1 trillion PHP (19,876 million USD) per year, and that is 8% of their GDP (Gross Domestic Product).

Therefore, the construction or expand of public transportation in Metro Manila has been the huge interest for Philippines government for the longest time. Let me introduce 3 public transportation that is currently under planning in Manila, Philippines.

SUBWAY

Finally, the subway construction project may take its first step. It is said that the building for Manila subway will be started in December 2018, delayed by 9 months from previous schedule. The subway connects the 23km from Quezon City to Paranaque City, and is estimated to be used by 370,000 people per day. Japan will finance 7 billion USD for this project in urban metropolis Manila, and operate the construction supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency. This construction is expected to finish by 2025 and will be the key to cut off the number of vehicle causing critical traffic jam.

MONORAIL

Alliance Global Group in Philippines has recently announced that they had submitted their offer to the Philippines government on infrastructure development in Metro Manila. In their plan, the rail way connects the developing area; Fort Bonifacio and one of the main load in Manila. If this offer gets accepted by the government, sky rail will be extended 2 kilometers; which sounds pretty short, but it makes all the difference.

RAILWAY

Last but not least, the railway will bring the great effect on the reduction of traffic jam in Manila. Several routes have already been scheduled to be built by this point, and one of them is the rail from Metro Manila area to Clark international airport. This railway is expected to complete its building by the 2022, which is under the current administration. This rail is going to be extended to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the future, and will reduce tourists’ biggest nightmare of missing their flight back home. If this construction will be finished as scheduled, President Duterte will be very proud of the achievement what his administration brought.

Blasting demand of dump trucks

Along with this biggest construction rush in the Philippines history, the demand for dump truck is rapidly growing. ISUZU and Mitsubishi FUSO trucks have been had large share of truck market in the Philippines for many years. However, the market seems slightly changing. People became more active to purchase trucks from other makers such as HINO, especially if it is dump truck. That proves the huge needs for dump truck and only popular maker cannot cover all the demand.

Without the great quality of Japanese dump trucks, this huge infrastructure revolution in Manila will not end any better.
